Expect Notning and be prepared to try again

Blessed is the man who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed -  Alexander Pope

So its been a while since I wrote here.  Lots of updates and some really cool and exciting changes in the world of Dylan Rosario.

Lessons in business are often learned by those who can fall then pick themselves up once again.  What did I learn from my most recent failure, my expectations are only a perceived reality that put upon myself.  I’ve learned through the process how ones perseverance, integrity, and honor can be challenged day in and day out.

I never was one to quit, and those who know me know that as a truth.  I can only blame myself for not paying attention to the road signs.  It reminds me of the movie Bruce Almighty, where he’s driving in his car yelling and cursing the world.  Huge signs, telling him to turn around and stop blinking in his face, yet he chooses to ignore them and marches forth to disaster.

We can only blame ourselves for failure.  Inability to avoid it is simply a personal shortcoming.  I have had many employees and vendors, many of whom were amazing, others not so amazing.  Nonetheless, I can only blame myself for not holding them to the standards that I expect.  I can only blame myself for the shortcomings in my deliverables.

So what do I learn from this?  I know that I am a human.  I make mistakes.  I learned.  I can forgive.  I can be forgiven.

Walking away from adUup, and closing down the company was a very hard thing to do.  Companies sometimes fail.  People quit or walk away.  That’s the amazing thing that we can enjoy today in a free trade and capitalistic country like the United States of America.

I once heard a wise man say the secret to life is “falling down seven times, and getting up eight”.  Getting back up on my feet, lifting my chin, and marching through is a testament to how strongly I believe in myself and my capability.

Going forward today I hope to build a new company, a new team, and new products.  I hope to bring in capable partners who are honest, professional, and loyal.

So, here I go.
